The Opportunity
As the WiseTech Global Group is constantly growing and acquiring new businesses, there is a need to strengthen our finance integration processes to support its growth. This includes scaling up the finance team from an analyst level to ensure continuous development and cross training among the team.
This role will partner closely with M&A, and you will be the gateway to the Group for acquired businesses post-acquisition and as such sets the benchmark for ongoing interaction, control, and insight as they adopt WiseTech Global processes, policies, and systems.
You will work closely with newly acquired businesses of various sizes and capabilities using our internally developed integration process and procedures, and you will have the chance to execute and improve the integration process that delivers efficiencies across the group. In addition to obtaining exposure to other businesses’ finance systems, controls and processes, this position will also give you access to the key management of businesses located across the globe. There will also be an opportunity to grow into other areas of the business including partnering with People, Sales, Legal and business operations to further add value to the group.
What you’ll be doing
1. Assist in analysis of new businesses’ process, and aligning to WTG policies & procedures
2. Assist in development of cross-functional finance integration plan for new acquisitions
3. Assist in execution of finance integration plan including:
4. Implementation of Wisetech finance processes and procedures across financial reporting, treasury, forecasting and budgeting and transactional accounting
5. Work alongside other team members to implement our accounting system in new businesses
6. Liaising with cross functional teams and acquired businesses to execute any entity rationalisation and aid statutory reporting
7. Identifying and working with subject matter experts to solve problems should they arise as every acquisition has its unique challenges
8. Aid transition of day-to-day control to other members of the Finance team who will take over ongoing responsibility for monitoring and control of the businesses – including Revenue, Licensing, AR, AP, Treasury, Payroll, Financial Reporting, FP&A and Tax
9. Champion our ability to ‘lead with content’ by documenting Integration policies and procedures
10. Improving internally developed integration process and procedures to drive increased efficiency and achieve scalability
Who you are?
11. CA or CPA qualified
12. Good understanding of month end close process with some experience as ledger owner
13. Experience in delivering high quality financial reporting or financial planning and analytics deliverables
14. Exposure with M&A, Financial Reporting and FP&A/Commercial Finance teams
15. Exposure to transactional processing – AR, AP, Cash and Treasury
16. Desire to learn and understand new systems, finance processes in all functional areas and get into the detail
17. Personable and collaborative attitude, you can develop relationships quickly and is confident in dealing with all levels including senior management
18. Be a strong team player and work closely with team members across finance to achieve integration milestones
19. Enjoy problem solving and critical analysis of processes
