About the Role
The Strategic Planning branch is responsible for the development and management of strategic land use planning policy, including the Sunshine Coast Planning Scheme.
The Manager’s Assistant provides professional and confidential secretarial and administrative support to the Branch Manager, serves as a point of contact for all internal and external customers of the branch, and coordinates and carries out key administrative tasks/projects for all teams within the branch.
Along with coordinating and assisting in the day-to-day administration of the branch, the Manager’s Assistant will also provide confidential secretariat support to the Manager, including diary and appointment management, responding to clients on behalf of the Manager, and preparing reports, agendas, and minutes following relevant research and analysis.
The Manager’s Assistant will also organise branch meetings and various other events (including external-facing events), assist with financial reconciliation and reporting, as well as inputting, searching, and retrieving data to produce reports using a variety of corporate applications, programs, and systems.
About you
As an administrative professional, you are experienced working in a highly professional team with confidential subject matter. You have demonstrated business acumen and the ability to apply legislation, policies, standards, regulations, and procedures relevant to the area of work. A Certificate IV in Business Administration/Local Government or other relevant disciplines or demonstrated learning in the workplace would be advantageous.
You have strong time management skills and can prioritise tasks. You can work both independently and interdependently to ensure work tasks are delivered on time and to a high standard.
You are a strong communicator and have excellent customer service skills. You have a demonstrated ability to prepare standard business correspondence and use your initiative and sound judgement to guide customers and resolve problems.
You are proficient in relevant computer software, applications, systems, databases, and mobile devices including Microsoft Office, electronic data content management, web publishing, customer management, property, and/or financial and human resource systems.
As a requirement of this role, you will possess a current “C Class” driver’s licence.
