Principal Engineer - Financial Crime and FraudEngineering - Software (Information & Communication Technology)Full time$220k - $300k p.a. + Inclusive of superannuationDavidson Technology have teamed up with a major Australian Financial Organisation to help find them a Principal Engineer!Our client needs a seasoned technologist from the world of Financial Crime (Ideally) to join their team to continue making major improvements to their customers over all financial security now and into the future.About the RoleIn this role you will be reporting into the executive of Financial Crime and working closely with other Heads of Technology to deliver best in class technology solutions, system capabilities and upgrades across their financial crime space. You will champion initiatives in the Financial Crime technology space, adhering to all compliances and regulatory needs as necessary.To be successful in this role you MUST be strongly skilled across software and data engineering, utilising technologies such as Java, Python, Neo4J, Spark and more. This role will see you working hands on with the code, implementing best practise processes for implementations as well as hold significant influence on a wider team of up to 400 engineers and alike.This role has no direct reports but will be a technology leader in the space.Some of the day to day:Draw on engineering capability and build a high performance (virtual or physical) team to deliver services to customers and colleagues in line with service level expectations for the scope of the service across dimensions of product, process, data and technology.Influence and manage relationships with senior stakeholders both across the Enterprise as well as with regulators across the industry.Run and uplift of existing services alongside delivery of strategic Financial Crime Change Program objectives, aligned and reused across the Enterprise where appropriate.Support continuous improvement of service maturity (simplifying, strengthening, accelerating cycle time, reducing cost to deliver) through the API and service enablement, cloud service offerings, open-source capability, workforce talent attraction and retention.Implementing, guiding and inspiring others to adhere to best practice standards.Problem solving at a complex level, being hands on with Code and implementation.About YouWe need a broad thinker, someone who is thinking proactively and not reactively. Someone who is adaptable and can manage competing priorities.Years of experience in similar role within a major financial or Banking organisation.Seasoned, best in class, hands on technologist who can balance delivery outcomes with cutting edge, best practice technologies to achieve the best outcomes for the domain, and customers.Demonstrated experience in delivering modern, service oriented, cloud native architectures including event driven architectures, API enabling core applications to enable service access and integration with minimal impact on core system change.Experience with effectively engaging a wide array of senior stakeholders necessary to deliver transformational change at all levels of business, operations and technology.Strong knowledge and experience with Financial Crime systems, obligations and control environments.Need someone with a customer mindset.Effective communicator with the ability to influence others.Strong experience with the likes of Java, Python, Spark, Neo4j (Coding tests will be implemented during process).Please apply by uploading your current resume in Microsoft Word format only (.doc or .docx).
