Randstad is currently seeking Mechanical Technicians for our client who is recognised as a leading global provider of equipment, systems, digital solutions and value-added services for freight and transit rail. Due to their long standing reputable performance and achievements across various Australian rail projects, they have been awarded works from now and for the next several years which has resulted in the need to grow their workforce to be able to successfully deliver and meet deadlines. Successful applicants will ideally need to possess industry experience working in a workshop based environment exposed to examining, testing and building rail components for iconic rail projects whilst being able to commit to working on a long term ongoing casual basis (full time weekly hours).
Duties:
1. Disassemble, reassemble, and test rail components in a controlled workshop environment
2. Ensure all work is completed in a timely manner and to a high standard
3. Ensure PPE is used as required and all work is performed in a safe manner
4. Keep accurate records of daily work through time sheets or other means
5. Contribute to problem solving and to continual improvement processes
6. Maintain workshop and equipment in a safe, clean, and working order
7. Ensure company policies and procedures are adhered to

Job Requirements
16. Trade qualifications in Automotive Mechanic or equivalent experience
17. Any tickets are desirable tickets but not a must:Construction Induction Card (White Card), EWP above 11m, Working at Heights, Confined Space, Forklift, Electrical Disconnect & Reconnect
18. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
19. Good verbal and written communication skills
