About the Role:
As a Credit Controller, you will report to the Accounts Receivable Supervisor and be responsible for managing the debtors to ensure monthly cash collection targets are met. You will play a crucial role in the collection cycle, manage credit notes issuance, and liaise with Client Relationship Managers to resolve any issues promptly.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Focus:
1. Monitor and manage debtors to meet monthly cash collection targets.
2. Oversee the collection cycle, including reminder letters, final demands, and escalations to collection agencies.
3. Manage the issuance of credit notes in line with MUFG Pension & Market Services policy.
4. Ensure timely receipting of all debtor accounts.
5. Collaborate with Client Relationship Managers to review and resolve debtor issues.
Operational Management:
6. Liaise with Client Relationship Managers and other departments to ensure timely collection of invoices.
7. Produce accurate debtor aging reports and end-of-month board reports.
8. Manage debtor statement and reminder letter mailings.
9. Ensure timely reconciliations and follow-up on outstanding items.
10. Supervise daily cash receipting and bank reconciliations.
11. Identify and suggest process improvements.
People Leadership:
12. Resolve queries and escalations from stakeholders across finance, relationship management, and external customers.
13. Drive improvement of the credit control function with Client Relationship Managers and the Finance team.
Governance and Risk:
14. Maintain accurate records ensuring high data integrity.
15. Identify and manage risks appropriately.
16. Ensure credit control processes and policies are followed.
Experience & Attributes:
17. Tertiary qualifications in Finance or Accounting (preferred).
18. Previous experience in a credit controller role.
19. Experience with ERP general ledger/sales ledger and reporting tools (., Vision, TM1).
20. Excellent relationship-building skills with Client Relationship Managers.
21. Advanced Microsoft Excel and numerical skills.
22. Effective reconciliation skills and basic knowledge of accounting structures.
23. Well-developed written and oral communication skills.
24. Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new concepts.
25. Flexibility to meet challenging deadlines.
26. Enthusiasm and a can-do attitude.
27. Effective planning and prioritization skills.
