Health & Allied Services – Laundry Hand Grade 1 or 2($24-26ph excluding allowances)The Warragul Linen Service (WLS) is a business unit of the West Gippsland Healthcare Group and is a leading linen service provider to several public hospitals across Melbourne metropolitan and surrounds. Our laundry plant is situated in the regional town of Warragul, behind the West Gippsland Hospital.We are currently seeking versatile candidates to work as Laundry Hands at our production plant. The role includes manual labor tasks such as folding, sorting, lifting, and packing. You will be working with industrial machinery, facilitating the washing, drying, processing, and distribution of healthcare linen within a team environment.We have various shifts available across morning or afternoon. A morning shift typically starts around 6:30 am with a 1:00 pm or 3:00 pm finish. An afternoon shift typically starts around 12:30 pm - 3:00 pm with a 9:00 pm - 9:30 pm finish Monday to Wednesday and 9:30 am - 11:30 am starts with a 6:00 pm finish Thursday and Friday. Contracts of up to 36 hours per week are available. Exact hours will be negotiated with the successful applicants.Operating industrial batch washers and dryers.Loading and unloading washer extractors.Processing linen through industrial machinery e.g., ironers and folders.Quality checks and inspections.Packing and linen preparation for distribution.Our ideal candidate will have:Ability to use initiative.Communication and people skills.Responsible and mature work attitude.Capacity and willingness to be flexible and adaptable.Ability to work under pressure, handling multiple tasks simultaneously.Commitment to our values.Comprehensive on-the-job training is provided with personal protective equipment (PPE) available if required.These roles require you to be on your feet all day and involve manual handling of linen.Free onsite parking and access to salary packaging to all staff.Working with usAll appointments with the West Gippsland Healthcare Group are subject to the satisfactory return of professional reference checks, a National Police Record Clearance, and a current Employee Working with Children Check.
