Water Engineer/ Hydrologist
We are looking for a water engineer/hydrologist with a background in hydrological modelling and surface water hydraulic modelling to be based in our modern Subiaco office. We assist our clients in different market sectors such as urban development, renewables, resource development, and encourage people with a range of experiences to apply.
You will be joining a multidisciplinary Sustainable Futures team which includes, Environmental Planning and Management, Water Engineering, Hydrology, Contaminated Sites and Marine Science. This opportunity is available either full time or part time .
ABOUT THE ROLE
You will work alongside and support our team of hydrologists and water resources engineers. Depending on your level of experience and career objectives, key responsibilities are likely to include:
1. Undertake surface water investigations, flood studies, water balance modelling, stormwater drainage modelling and associated technical reporting. This can include LWMS’s and UWMPs.
2. Liaise with clients and/or project teams, including civil engineers, planners, landscape architects, hydrogeologists and environmental scientists.
3. Collect, compile, present and evaluate/analyse environmental and hydrological data.
ABOUT YOU
4. The successful candidate will be tertiary qualified in Environmental or Civil Engineering, Environmental Science or another relevant degree with:
5. 3 years to 10+ years’ experience, specifically in hydrology and hydraulic modelling
6. Thorough working knowledge with the latest Australian Rainfall and Runoff Guidelines (ARR 2019).
7. Ability to set up and run XPSWMM or TUFLOW models in accordance with ARR 2019.
8. Working knowledge of GIS software including ArcGIS and QGIS, and the relevant plug-ins for preparation and post-processing of TUFLOW model data.
9. Experience in the preparation of Better Urban Water Management reports or technical reports on hydrology and hydraulic assessments.
10. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
11. Demonstrate a desire for learning new skills and professional development.
