We currently have a fantastic opportunity for the rightcandidate to live and work on South Australia's Eyre Peninsula as aSenior Ranger. You will be based in Port Lincoln - a bustling smallregional city with wide ranging nature-based and recreationalopportunities on its doorstep. It takes just 10 minutes from PortLincoln to drive into Lincoln National Park, or 30 minutes toCoffin Bay National Park.
As Senior Ranger for the Eyre District, you will be leading asmall, dedicated team of Parks and Wildlife Rangers to work notonly in these two National Parks but also in the many otherConservation Parks, Wilderness Protection Areas and Marine Parkswithin the Eyre District. You will plan and implement operationalworks to ensure visitor, asset, environmental and culturalmanagement priorities are effectively delivered in the EyreDistrict Parks. You will ensure park visitors enjoy a safe andpositive park experience and will work effectively with keypartners, including Traditional Owners, park neighbours, lesseesand volunteers. You will be required to actively participate infire and flood management and emergency responses, including marineand land-based wildlife incidents.

7. This role has functions pertaining to working with children and is prescribed under the Child Safety (Prohibited Person) Act 2016 as requiring a Working with Children Check (WWCC). By applying for this role you consent to being screened for appropriate behaviour and to the Department obtaining, or requiring you to obtain a WWCC.
8. This role has been designated as a Position of Trust pursuant to the standards required in the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework. By applying for this role you consent to being screened under the process of obtaining a National Police Clearance (NPC), and to the Department requiring you to obtain an NPC.
9. Will be required to participate in emergency operations including bushfire operations, search and rescue and marine mammal strandings. This may require at times, some out of hours work including the participation in an “on-call” roster.
10. Will be required to work some weekends and public holidays for which a penalty rate will be applied.
11. Will be required to undertake a medical and fitness assessment for a Fire Fighting Role Classification as defined in the DEW Fire Management Policy and Procedures.
12. May be required to work from any location within the region or any region or management unit within the state.
13. Will be required to wear a uniform in accordance with DEW policy.
14. A current class “C” driver’s licence and willingness and ability to safely operate a 4wd is essential.
15. Intra and inter-state travel is required, including extended periods of time away from home and travel in light aircraft.
16. A current Provide First Aid Certificate is desirable (HLTAID001; HLTAID002 and HLTAID003).
Remuneration:
OPS5 - $80,877 min - $86,461 max p.a.
