We are seeking casual Bus Drivers to do bus runs from Norseman to Kalgoorlie once a week, most likely on a Thursday. All you will need is a MR (or above) driver’s license, a reliable and professional attitude, be community minded and be experienced in engaging with Aboriginal people. Working a 7.6 hour shift, one day a week - driving from Norseman to Kalgoorlie and return, (8:00 – 4:00pm, with a 30 min unpaid meal break). This position may extend to extra days in the future, depending on Community and Corporation demand.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct Prestart Checks on the Bus, including minor mechanical servicing tasks (fuel, air and oil).
2. Monitor and respond to emails containing pick up, delivery and maintenance requests.
3. Drive Community members on a return trip from Norseman to Kalgoorlie. Bus services may include trips to Esperance on additional days in the future.
4. Clean and maintain bus at the end of each shift.
5. Follow Health and Safety policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
6. Load and unload bus with goods for the Corporation when required.
Role Requirements:
1. A valid Australian MR or above Class Driver's License with a clean driving record.
2. Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one.
3. First Aid/CPR Certificate (or willing to obtain).
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Physically fit – will need to assist with pick ups and deliveries from time to time.
6. Ability to pass a Commercial Drivers Medical and Drug & Alcohol Screen.
7. Australian Work Rights.
8. To live in Norseman or close by to be able to start the return journey from there.
