General Manager, Commercial Data Platforms
This role is a strategic leadership position within News Corp Australia's Technology division. The successful candidate will lead a team of AWS and data engineering professionals who are experts in data platforms that provide the ability for News Corp Australia to monetise our commercial data assets.
The General Manager, Commercial Data Platforms will be responsible for people leadership, technology and roadmap delivery across the technology components that make up our Commercial Data Platforms function. This includes managing a number of technology vendors and service providers with key technology components including:
* Data Governance
* AWS
* GCP
* Adobe Experience Platform
* Adobe Audience Manager
* Angular, NodeJS
* Databases - Relational, DocumentDB, Vector DB
* Conversational ML/AI
* Data Monetisation
To be successful in this role, you will require:
1. Greater than 12 years of engineering delivery / platform management experience, leading a medium sized technology team within a data engineering or digital domain.
2. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
3. Demonstrable experience with all phases of the SDLC using either Agile or Waterfall methodologies.
4. Ability to deliver outcomes by leading cross functional teams of internal and external resourcing.
5. Experience with AWS & Google Cloud data engineering technologies.
6. A career that originated from a software engineering discipline.
7. Minimum 10 years of developer experience (any technology).
8. Strong knowledge of the business analysis and the ability to consult and capture business requirements.
9. Excellent communication skills specifically articulating technical concepts to non-technical people.
10. Media industry experience.
11. Ability to create technical documentation.
