The Service aims to reduce harm from alcohol and drug use while promoting the health and wellbeing of clients, families, and the community. Based in Rockhampton, it offers outreach services in Yeppoon, Emerald, Blackwater, and Biloela. The AODS Psychologist delivers specialised clinical psychology services, focusing on harm reduction and primary health care principles to engage target clients and the wider community.
About the role:
Apply professional judgement to a complex caseload, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence. Provide general clinical advice to professional and operational supervisors, relevant service managers and other stakeholders regarding service delivery. Responsible for monitoring and reporting clinical work practices and outcomes within clinical service area and initiating, planning and evaluating local service improvement activities. Provide clinical practice supervision to less experienced practitioners to ensure the maintenance of professional clinical standards within AODS. Responsibilities include assistance with performance management, training of subordinate staff, coordination of student clinical placements, assistance and input into strategic planning and responsibility for the monitoring of professional standards and quality outcomes from the team. About you:
Possess an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited four-year qualification in psychology. General registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA). Post-graduate qualifications in relevant Psychology or addiction courses would be highly regarded, as would PsyBA approved supervisor status. What we offer:
