About the role The Alcohol and Other Drugs Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2 (CNC2) provides intensive community Alcohol and Other Drugs interventions for women experiencing alcohol and/or other drug issues during the perinatal period. The CNC2 provides an advanced nursing service and is an expert in the Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) specialty field and facilitates linkages and relationships with Local Health District nurses/midwives, multidisciplinary teams and medical officers to support patient management. Providing assessment, care planning and review of patients in collaboration with the primary service providers to ensure that evidence-based practice is utilised. The CNC2 clinician is responsible for the provision of expert AOD clinical advice, coordination, leadership and consultancy services within the defined catchment area and target populations within Northern NSW Local Health District (NNSWLHD).
