Position
Support the leadership teams by providing expert services, support and assurance for the effective implementation of ARTC’s safety management systems. The goal is to enhance safety outcomes, promote ownership of safety culture, reduce operational risks and ensure compliance with ARTC’s policies and legislation. The role is crucial in fostering a culture of safety across the business, driving performance improvements and aligning initiatives with the broader business strategy.
* Act as a trusted business partner for leaders offering coaching, guidance, reporting and support on safety-related matters, initiatives and performance.
* Lead a team of safety business partners, fostering collaboration, and customer focus, to provide services, assurance and support to the business for the effective implementation of ARTC’s safety management systems and strategic goals and objectives.
* Ensure the team provides high-quality advice, coaching and services to drive improved compliance and performance.
* Work collaboratively with cross-disciplinary teams and across the business to ensure a consistent and fit-for-purpose approach to safety management and safety leadership.
* Collaborate, develop and implement plans that support the achievement of ARTC Business strategy goals and objectives.
* Provide regular reporting on safety performance to leaders, enabling informed decision-making.
* Assess current safety practices and culture, providing strategic insights and contemporary solutions to drive performance and achieve the desired safety culture.
* Support change programs to enhance safety outcomes.
* Analyse safety data to provide insights and influence pragmatic interventions.
* Deliver high-quality management reports on safety performance, highlighting key trends and areas for improvement.
* Ensure compliance with ARTC’s Safety Management Systems, focusing on the implementation of critical controls and a risk-based assurance plan.
Requirements
* Tertiary / Degree qualifications (or equivalent) in WHS and/or environmental management (or related discipline)
* Extensive experience in civil and/or rail engineering activities and projects.
* Proven ability to analyse management systems and interpret to engineering codes.
* Knowledge of or an awareness of Work, Health and Safety principles and relevant rail safety legislation.
* Proven ability to train, motivate and manage staff.
* Highly developed negotiation, influencing, analytical, problem-resolution, interpersonal and written communication skills.
