Role Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Regional Assets Support Manager, this role requires a mature and professional approach with excellent communication skills. Your main duties will include:
* Performing repairs on buses and other maintenance activities as required
* Overseeing major repair programs, including testing, fault finding, and quality assurance
* Conducting functional checks to ensure components are operational and vehicles are fit for service.
* Providing on-the-job instruction, training, and coaching to staff for maintenance work, inventory requirements, and record documentation
* Developing the skills of the workshop team to maximise results.
* Leading by example, representing the organisation in an honest, ethical, and professional manner according to the Busways Code of Conduct
* Maintaining all tools, equipment, and work areas in accordance with Busways' standards
* Liaising with the Regional Assets Support Manager regarding buses off the road
* Assisting the Regional Assets Support Manager as needed, including managing leave requests and workshop staff.
* Ensuring staff have adequate training to perform necessary tasks.
* Raising purchase orders and processing invoices for payment
* Reporting and repairing all accident damage as required.
* Performing ad-hoc tasks and other duties as directed

The Successful Applicant Will Have:
* Relevant trade qualifications (MVTC) essential
* Experience in the service and maintenance of vehicles (training provided to develop these skills)
* Adherence to safety standards and company policies
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Experience working in a team environment on daily maintenance and repair schedules.
* Proactive approach with a drive for continuous improvement
* Australian Citizenship, Permanent Residency, or working rights in Australia.
Highly Regarded but Not Necessary:
* Heavy vehicle diesel mechanic experience (we provide training and development)
