$75,000–$80,000 + super + generous salary packaging options Full-time, two-year contract Based in Prahran, Melbourne The opportunity We are seeking two highly experienced and skilled Facilities Coordinators to join our management team.
The position of Facilities Coordinator requires interaction with teams across the Institute and the Alfred Research Alliance (ARA), working within tight schedules and deadlines, as well as the capacity to work well in a team environment.
A key component of this role is to provide a safe and secure working environment conducive to productive research and associated activities, and one that is user-friendly to clients and other users of the buildings.
Duties In this role you will be expected to:
Manage repairs, maintenance, and upkeep of company facilities, including building systems, appliances, and outdoor spaces. Engage with vendors and suppliers to deliver services ensuring quality, timeliness, and costs are managed. Ensure vendor and supplier inductions are complete, considering the specific requirements of PAC. Work with vendors, contractors, and property managers to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance tasks. Monitor and manage facility access and safety protocols, including security systems and protocols. Ensure compliance with all regulations and codes related to building safety and maintenance. Develop and maintain relationships with tenants and other stakeholders to ensure a high level of customer service. Participate in the development of long-term plans for facility maintenance, upgrades, and improvements, including budget development and management. Provide regular reports on facility operations, expenses, and projects to management. Drive the process that identifies areas for improvement that help the engineering operations to be more effective, efficient, and reliable, utilizing available data on site and the latest industry-wide technologies and best practices. Be rostered On-Call for After Hours Emergency Response. Participate in emergency management responses and drills as necessary. Abide by the policies and procedures of each ARA partner while on or about their property and model appropriate behaviours concerning health and safety, equal opportunity and discrimination, and privacy matters. Skills and experience You will have:
A minimum of five years of experience in a similar position. A strong maintenance/operational background. Excellent time management and organisational skills. Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure effective and courteous interaction with colleagues, contractors, visitors, and scientists. Computer skills (Word, email, and strong in Excel). Broad knowledge of building services, particularly maintenance issues.
