VIPeople are the industry leading supplier of professional and friendly Casual Event Staff to a wide variety of sporting and entertainment venues throughout Australia and we are thrilled to be hiring for the role of Dishwasher/Kitchen Hand staff to work at Cirque Du Soleil - Adelaide.
The Show runs from September 25th – November 10th 2024.
Pre-event shifts begin September 11th - September 24th 2024.
Weekday and Weekend shifts are available.
Morning Shift: Start time 6.00am - 2.30pm (weekend start time will be 5am).
Afternoon Shift: Start time 1.30pm - 10.00pm.
Location: Under the Big Top - Next to Royal Queensland Golf Course, 431 Curtin Ave W, Eagle Farm, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, 4009.
To be considered for this opportunity, you MUST be available to work 4-5 days a week regularly over the duration of the shows (Show dates: Wednesday to Sunday). This includes evenings and weekend shifts.
Kitchen Hand/Dishwasher
Working Hours: 35 – 40 hours, 5 days per week (subject to change according to the show schedule).
Primary responsibilities include:
* Maintain the cleanliness of the entire kitchen and catering area.
* Assist chefs and cooks in receiving and putting away deliveries.
* Wash a large volume of dishes, crockery, cutlery, pots, and pans and put them away in a clean, safe, and orderly manner. Always maintain a clean and tidy dish pit.
* Wash, dry, and fold kitchen laundry.
* Keep floors clean by sweeping, brushing, and mopping at all times, especially at the end of the shift.
* Collecting and disposal of all garbage, compost, and recycling bins into dumpsters.
* Complete assigned cleaning projects daily.
* Participate in the teardown and setup of the kitchen.
The ideal candidate:
* Minimum of 6 months full-time working in a professional or industrial kitchen (busy restaurants and busy catering companies preferred, but chain restaurants discouraged). This is not a customer service role.
* Physically able, highly motivated, and willing to be trained. This position is physically demanding and fast-paced. Lifting 40-pound (5-gallon) water jugs, as well as heavy vegetable boxes, are part of the daily routine.
* Serve safe or food safety certificates a plus.
* Available to work 5 days a week, including weekends, early mornings, and late nights during the entire city run.
