Due to continuous growth in IP Video Surveillance the Wesco Anixter CSS division is seeking a dynamic experienced Pre-Sales Engineer to join our team.
The position reports directly to the Director TSS - Asia Pacific who is based out of Melbourne. You will be collaborating and working closely with Anixter Sales people and other Pre-Sales Engineers within the Asia Pacific region on a daily basis. The position is predominantly a Pre-Sales role in IP Video Surveillance and will require you to possess a strong knowledge, technical design capabilities and experience.
This role is responsible for the effective communication of Anixter Australia’s value proposition and to optimize the development of opportunities for end to end solutions for security integrators. You will also be responsible for providing leadership and support to multiple sales locations in a virtual sales environment, and operate where an additional level of technical knowledge is required to maximize the revenue outcomes for the business in opportunities. Advanced IP video Surveillance design skills and experience within the building services consulting industry would be required. Due to the wide range of solutions that Anixter sells, an additional understanding of Networking is advantages. The willingness to cross train and to learn about adjacent technologies would also be desirable such as basic Pro AV, Data Center Solutions, Structured cabling etc. Responsibilities also include the delivery of key business development strategies, participation in monthly sales meetings and progress reviews and delivery of external and internal education and evaluation programs on a regular basis.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
1. Customer consultations, inclusive of onsite meetings and surveys that our driven by Sales Teams
2. Drive and increase IP Video Surveillance sales by assisting our sales people with design and technical support.
3. Create System designs, as required
4. Equipment selection from Anixter’s CORE product lines
5. Provide Pre-Sales support, inclusive of bill of material generation and Level 1 Post-Sales Support
6. Collaboration with External and Internal customers within the Asia Pacific region
7. Demonstrate a clear eagerness to be helpful to peers and work to benefit Anixter
8. Maintain relevant industry standard trainings and certifications, mainly in Milestone XPRotect VMS and Dell Server / Storage solutions
9. Handle customer inquiries in a timely manner and demonstrate efficiency in completing all assigned tasks
10. Conceptualize and test-pilot cutting edge IP Video Surveillance systems.
11. Be organized, analytical, and able to eliminate obstacles through creative and adaptive processors
12. Supporting sales personnel in handling technical queries in the APAC region
13. Have the ability to constantly learn and improve on new technologies related to solutions that Anixter provides.
14. Be a pro-active team member of the APAC Technical Solution Services
15. Based out of Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne, will need to support other countries/regions on pre-sales and some travelling maybe required.
16. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate a strong knowledge and in-depth understanding of the structure of specification documents, and then being able to provide appropriate solutions to meet requirements of the tender.
17. The role requires the development of relationships with product suppliers, so as to ensure our competitive advantage is maintained and further expanded
18. Experience in network cabling infrastructure and access control systems is of great value
Requirements
19. Have at least 5+ years of experience in the commercial IP Video Surveillance industry, mainly Milestone XProtect VMS and Dell Server/Storage Solutions
20. Bachelor's degree with a minimum 5 years sales / technical experience
21. Strong management skills and proven ability to lead and develop teams.
22. Proven strategic thinker.
23. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
24. Understanding of the specification document and the consulting engineering process is of value.
25. Strong knowledge of server configuration, storage calculations and network design is of great value.
26. A background knowledge of Pro AV, Data Center Solutions, Structured cabling etc is of added value.
27. Experience in deploying market leading VMS platforms and video analysis software is of value.
28. Able to work in a dynamic fast pace environment
