The Head of Data Platforms will serve several critical internal clients, including the business units of Customer Solutions, Group Operations, Technology, and Wealth. Your team sits within the Data Platforms DCEW (Digital, Customer Engagement and Westpac Investment Banking) division which comprises four delivery departments: WIB and Treasury, Marketing and Digital, Customer, Special Business Division.As an influential data leader, you will play a crucial role designing, building, and implementing data solutions for the department that works to protect the customers and community we serve. Your data delivery program expertise and curiosity will be complemented by outstanding interpersonal skills. You will be as adept at listening to and partnering with internal stakeholders as you are skilful at devising and implementing creative data delivery solutions.Role responsibilities include:Lead and contribute to multiple data execution plans and roadmaps that align to the Westpac Group's Data Strategy and architectural standards.Develop, champion, and manage your team in accordance with Westpac's people principles and processes.Provide expert guidance on data-related initiatives, leveraging industry best practices and market trends.Collaborate with senior leadership to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive business growth and efficiency.Deliver data services and projects for your line of business and group exec including data products, insights, and reporting for regulatory and business purposes.Understand and utilise the full functional capability of Data Platforms applications and work with the Chief Information Officer (CIO) teams and business teams to deliver customer-focused business solutions. Share knowledge to further deliver return-on-investment for Data Platform applications.Effectively manage all internal client-sponsored data programs and projects, costs, risks, resource requirements, and timelines. Ensure solutions meet required customer, business and quality outcomes in balance with wider corporate strategic goals and standards.Establish an effective governance framework including regular reporting and proactive client communication to ensure progress is monitored, trends highlighted, and risks identified.Establish new end-to-end delivery model and target state roadmaps with CIO and business teams.Build and lead a high-performing data team, providing mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities.Effectively manage stakeholder relationships, balancing diverse interests and demands while ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.Define and execute a relevant workforce strategy that considers BAU supply and demand parameters and strategic change programs. Ensure sufficiently trained staff are available, and intellectual property nurtured and retained.Forecast, monitor, control and manage the resources required to develop and maintain data services for various business units, including managing capital and operating expense budgets.Manage the cost, quality, timeliness, and integration of service provided by third party suppliers and business partners to ensure seamless service and delivery to customers.Forecast and manage a scaled Agile team resource plan that optimises the use of on- and offshore feature teams.What's in it for me?You'll play a significant part of the future of a business that has been around for over 200 years.
