Role of Schools and Regional Services
Schools and Regional Services comprises 17 Areas within four regions across the state, as well as 5 central Divisions. Student Support Services (SSS) comprise the Allied Health professions of psychologists, speech pathologists, social workers, occupational therapists, and behaviour analysts.
Key Responsibilities of Occupational Therapist
As an Occupational Therapist on a fixed term contract, you will be responsible for applying current evidenced-based practice in school-based settings, using relevant experience and/or knowledge in areas such as sensory processing, fine motor skills, handwriting, emotional regulation, self-care, and paediatric disability practice.
Qualifications and Experience
A graduate or post-graduate degree in Occupational Therapy is required. Currently registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possessing a valid Working with Children Check and full Drivers' License are also mandatory requirements.
Work Environment
Student Support Services is a front-line service requiring rapid response, and flexibility is essential.
