Our Rangers are responsible for providing the local community with an effective regulatory service that meets statutory obligations and reduces adverse impacts on the local area by enforcing applicable legislation and Councils policies. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, is able to work both autonomously and as part of a dynamic team and has a strong focus on customer expectations whilst promoting council values.
You will be required to work on a rotating 7 day roster system with a spread of hours between 6.00am and 6.00pm. Penalty rates and additional annual leave accrual will apply.
This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.
Key activities of this role include:
5. Undertake patrols of Councils beaches, reserves and other public spaces to detect offences under the Companion Animals Act 1998;
6. Gather sufficient evidence of offences under Local Government Act, 1993; Companion Animals Act, 1997; Roads Act, 1993; The Australian Road Rules; Impounding Act, 1993; Protection of the Environment Operations Act, 1997 and Regulations to allow for appropriate action to be taken;
7. Patrol public places to detect, control and/or prevent obstructions or unlawful activities.
Essential criteria:
8. Certificate IV qualification in Local Government (Regulatory Services) OR demonstrated solid contemporary experience, combined with ongoing professional development
9. Current Class C Drivers Licence
10. Valid Construction General Induction card or equivalent, or have a willingness to obtain
