About your opportunity
Fixed term temporary full-time / 05/08/2024 to 02/02/2025 / Location: Townsville
The position will entail responsibility for supervision of junior medical staff, including inpatient care and will include some responsibility for providing teaching to junior medical staff, medical students, and allied health staff. The role is primarily a supporting role for the Obstetrics and Gynaecology service, with the main focus on providing outpatient early pregnancy, antenatal and women's health care as well as inpatient antenatal, postnatal care and support of termination of pregnancy services. There will be opportunity for intrapartum and intra-and perioperative care as senior staffing allows.

2. Salary range of $4822.20 to $5591.00 p.f. (L4-L9).
3. 5 weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading.

Candidate Requirements:
7. Qualified as a medical practitioner, qualifications in speciality areas and current registration and / or eligible for registration as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia.
8. If appointee is not accepted into a recognised vocational college training program – employment will be as a Principal House Officer and remuneration will be at PHO Level (L4-L7).
9. Successful completion of at least two years post-registration training.
10. Health Care Workers in Queensland Health whose occupation poses a potential risk of exposure to blood or body fluids must be immunised against Hepatitis B according to the National Health and Medical Research Council Australian Immunisation Handbook and the Queensland Health Infection Control Guidelines.
11. This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
