The Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Project Manager to fill a vacancy within our PTA Project Delivery (PPD) Division for the Radio Systems Replacement (RSR) Project. The RSR Project is a major upgrade of the PTA’s existing radio system which will see the replacement of the radio system with a new digital Long-Term Evolution (LTE) system. The successful candidate will manage and support the delivery of the RSR Project including leading teams of in-house and private sector professionals to plan and deliver the project and ensure compliance with the Public Transport Authority’s Code of Practice and Rail Safety National Law.
About You
We are looking for applicants with project management experience in a civil, structural, electrical, communications, (or other) construction environment including planning and design review. The successful applicant will have demonstrated experience in the development and management of technology-based contracts for the upgrade of mission-critical systems in a public transport infrastructure environment including leadership and management skills and experience.
To be considered for this role, you will have:
1. Possession of tertiary qualification in civil, structural, electrical, communications or transport engineering, with eligibility for Professional Membership of the Australian Institute of Project Management or equivalent OR a significant level of experience.
2. Project management experience in a civil, structural, electrical, communications (or other) construction environment.
3. Project and/or contract management experience.
There is a fulltime fixed term position for three years, with the possibility of extension and /or permanency, available for immediate start.
Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool for 12 months from which fixed term appointments with possibility of extension and/or permanency will be made. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur for up to 12 months.
