As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a crucial role in providing specialised support and instruction to students with special education needs. You will work closely with our diverse student population, including those with Autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, developmental delays, and behavioural challenges, to ensure they receive the individualised attention and resources they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement personalized learning plans for students with diverse learning needs, in collaboration with parents, teachers, and other support staff.
* Adapt curriculum materials and instructional strategies to accommodate the unique learning styles and abilities of each student.
* Provide direct instruction and support to students both in inclusive classroom settings and in small group or one-on-one settings as needed.
* Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that celebrates diversity and promotes mutual respect and understanding among students.
* Collaborate with colleagues and other professionals, such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, and psychologists, to address students’ individualized needs and maximize their learning outcomes.
* Monitor students’ progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed to ensure continuous growth and development.
* Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education and inclusive teaching.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
* Bachelors of Primary Education
* Valid teaching certification VIT
* Demonstrated experience working with students with diverse learning needs, preferably in a school or educational setting.
* Strong understanding of various learning disabilities, developmental disorders, and behavioural challenges, as well as evidence-based interventions and strategies to support students with these needs.
* Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
