About the Role
The Data Architecture team is a key part of our Data and Analytics group. We’re all about using best practices and frameworks to guide our data and analytics projects, making sure they align with BoQ’s strategy and business goals.
As a Senior Data Architect, you’ll be a vital member of our team. You’ll be in charge of designing and delivering our data architecture strategy, which includes creating data designs, models, and architecture patterns for both our new and old cloud data platforms. You’ll work closely with various stakeholders to evaluate our current data setup and offer strategic advice to get the most out of our data assets. Plus, you’ll collaborate with other tech teams in the bank, like Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, Security, Integration, and Cloud Engineering.
In this role, you’ll get to work with cutting-edge technologies like cloud migration to Azure, cloud data management with Databricks, event streaming, API integration, and data security and privacy by design. You’ll also support AI/ML and data science projects, CRM with Dynamics 365, and data modelling in Data Vault 2.0.
We’ve partnered with Microsoft to build a true digital bank on Azure, and our data platform is a crucial part of this transformation, helping us achieve our vision.
You will turn high-level strategy and business requirements into data designs for both cloud and on-premises platforms. You’ll manage stakeholder expectations and relationships, clearly explaining designs at different levels and anticipating business needs. Additionally, you’ll provide clear reasons for your architectural recommendations, ensuring they align with our principles and guidelines.
About you
You bring extensive experience with data platforms, data warehouses, and BI platforms, along with significant architecture experience, growing capabilities in a large data team within a multi-platform, multi-technology environment. You’ve got hands-on experience with all phases of the SDLC, whether using Agile or Waterfall methodologies. Your educational background includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Technology with data-related coursework or a similar field, and an advanced degree is a plus.
You’re well-versed in existing, new, and emerging data trends and understand the benefits they bring. You have a broad, enterprise-wide view of the business and appreciate strategy, organizational capabilities, and enabling technologies. Your collaboration, communication, presentation, problem-solving, interpersonal, consulting, influencing, and stakeholder engagement skills are top-notch, allowing you to build relationships at all levels. While banking experience is preferred, you should have good knowledge of one or more domains such as Core Banking, Mortgages, Lending, Payments, Digital, Business Banking, Regulatory, or Risk.
