About the role
The Digital Editor is a lead content role driving the omnichannel success of AWW across all digital platforms including site, social and EDM, with a strong focus on commerce content.
Reporting into the Digital Managing Editor, the Digital Editor will use their strong journalistic skills, and deep understanding of AWW’s key content pillars (travel, health, lifestyle, royals, celebrity and news) to create content that engages and grows audience. They will use insights and data to inform a content strategy that delivers key traffic and audience metrics while enhancing and evolving this iconic brand.
A truly omnichannel role, the Digital Editor will build and maintain effective, respectful and regular communications with all key stakeholders including content producers, commercial and shopping leads and the heads of Social, Email and SEO. They will share digital knowledge, drive best practice and provide digital thought leadership for the entire AWW team.
The Digital Editor works collaboratively and alongside other digital leaders to ensure consistency in operations, processes, reporting and knowledge sharing - working towards a cohesive and collaborative team culture both within the Lifestyle vertical at Are Media
Duties
* Use data and audience insights to effectively plan content strategy across site and socials balancing both short and long term (evergreen) objectives.
* Create and edit clean, on-brand and highly engaging content across all digital platforms and content pillars to meet audience and revenue targets
* Use SEO insights and tools to optimise existing content and convert to shoppable content where possible.
* With the guidance of the DME and Brand Manager, ideate and execute commercial content opportunities
* Ensure all digital, social, shopping and newsletter outputs are met for the brand.
* Regularly analyse and report on performance across all channels and adjust approach as required.
* Assign digital tasks and workflow to the wider AWW content team and work with the DME and Editor to ensure workloads are fairly distributed and managed.
* Drive a high-preforming team culture, providing regular feedback via 1:1s and team meetings
Skills and experience
* At least 5 years’ editing experience in digital media - preferably in women's lifestyle
* Experience with content management systems, photo editing and analytic tools
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Experience in content management and the development of content strategies
* Strong content ideation skills
* Strong understanding of SEO content
* Basic understanding of commercial drivers for websites and digital sales processes
* Experience as a team/people leader
