Your role:
Reporting to the Accounts Receivable Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of collections and credit operations, leading and mentoring a team of eight credit controllers to achieve team goals, driving performance, implementing effective collection strategies, and ensuring compliance with company policies and credit guidelines.
Leadership and Team Management
* Provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to the Credit Control team
* Set performance goals and KPIs for the team in collaboration with the Accounts Receivable Manager, conducting regular performance reviews and identifying areas for improvement
* Oversee the professional development of team members, providing training and guidance on best practices
* Conduct monthly 1:1’s to assist with managing succession planning
* Empower the team to ensure they reach their targets and KPIs
Collections
* Support Accounts Receivable Manager in development and execution of collections strategies to reduce overdue receivables and maintain optimal cash flow
* Monitor and report on collection metrics and identify areas for improvement in collection processes
* Implement effective collection strategies to optimise cash flow and reduce overdue accounts
* Handle escalated collection issues and negotiate repayment plans as necessary
* Produce accurate and timely reports for monitoring accounts, collections activity and escalation of overdue debts
Credit Management
* Support Accounts Receivable Manager in development and implementation of credit policies and procedures to assess customer creditworthiness
* Monitor credit risk exposure nationally
* Manage national stop trade and customer dispute processes
* Support Accounts Receivable Manager in development and implementation of Quality Assurance practices
* Collaborate with operations, sales and other departments to manage customer relationships and ensure timely resolution of credit issues
About you:
* Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a team effectively
* Experience in Collections and Credit management
* Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to collections practices
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills
* Detail-oriented and analytical mindset
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
* Certification in Credit and Collections management will be highly regarded
