PKF Sydney & Newcastle is seeking a Senior Accountant or Assistant Manager to join the Business Accounting Services team. You will be working alongside a group of talented professionals. This is a permanent role within a flexible working fun environment, based in Newcastle.

This position lies within our Business Advisory Services team. Primarily responsible for assisting clients by overseeing a team to prepare financial and management accounting reports and their tax compliance obligations. This position requires the ability to identify issues and provide solutions in a proactive manner.

Key responsibilities
Processing and reviewing financial statements, preparation of management reports, preparation of review of entities’ income tax and BAS/IAS returns, preparation of interim financial accounts and providing tax planning proposals, preparation and analysis of management reports, prepare, analyse and review accounts, financial data presentation, assist in monthly billing process.
What you need to apply
This position requires a highly organised, executional team player with excellent initiative. Ability to build trust and relationships with clients is key. Good communication and mentoring skills are necessary to provide support and training to junior staff members. You will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to change and work in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
CA or CPA qualifications (or working towards), 5 years' experience ideally within mid-tier exposure, proficient in Xero and MYOB, excellent written and verbal communication.
