The Project This FIFO role supports the environmental management of a high-profile mining project in the Pilbara region.
The project is currently undergoing a $500 million upgrade to its existing facility, adding a range of new infrastructure.
The initial assignment will focus on ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and implementing best practices to minimize the project's environmental footprint.
You will be joining one of our client's largest site teams to date.
What You'll Bring to the Role Proven understanding of the Commonwealth environmental approvals framework.
Proven understanding of Western Australia (WA) or New South Wales (NSW) environmental approvals and compliance management.
Significant experience in a similar role within the natural resources industry or an equivalent sector.
Experience with GIS software, data capture and interpretation, EMS management, and reporting.
Demonstrable understanding of key environmental and social risks associated with natural resource projects.
Strong ability to communicate, build stakeholder relationships, collaborate, and negotiate.
Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Engineering, or a related field, with experience managing State and Commonwealth environmental approvals.
Unrestricted driver's license and valid working rights for Australia.
Your Responsibilities Implementing the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP) and Environmental Management System (EMS).
Training teams and contractors (inductions, land disturbance training, bio-identification training).
Fauna relocation (after completing fauna handling training).
Pre-clearing fauna surveys (after completing fauna surveyor training).
Assisting in the execution of the Land Disturbance Procedure.
Compliance reporting, including NGERS, waste management, environmental monitoring, and Part IV (licence reports).
Conducting dust, noise, vibration, and vegetation monitoring.
Providing environmental advice to contractors and the project management team.
Conducting inspections and audits.
Implementing Heritage Protection Plans and collaborating closely with Traditional Owners.
