Our client
A global leader in resources with a diverse and dynamic portfolio, they are strategically positioned to play a pivotal role in driving the energy transition, fostering sustainable economic growth, and enhancing living standards. Their strong capabilities and commitment to social value empower them to meet the evolving demands of a changing world.
About the role
We’re looking for an experienced and hands-on Supply Chain Manager to lead our client’s international logistics operations, with direct accountability for a team, focused on both execution and people leadership. Reporting to the Head of Logistics, you’ll manage operational and project cargo end-to-end, directly executing freight activities, leading a team, and driving process improvements.
Key responsibilities:
* Lead international logistics operations, managing break bulk charters, containerized shipments, and coordinating pre- and post-carriage activities.
* Take direct responsibility for chartering vessels, engaging with container liners, and executing shipments—this is a hands-on role that requires the ability to do the work, not just delegate.
* Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and influence business strategies and suppliers to drive future outcomes.
* Manage and coach a small team, balancing people leadership with execution responsibilities.
* Deliver supply chain expertise to optimize logistics solutions and reduce costs while managing risk.
* Oversee contractor management and vendor selection, ensuring optimal contract performance.
* Advise on transportation methods, and drive logistics efficiency for project cargo, including modularised cargo and out of gauge shipments.
* Lead project logistics planning and delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
* Apply risk management principles to ensure safety and operational excellence.
* Foster a learning-agile environment within the team to ensure continuous improvement.
About you
We’re looking for a dynamic leader who has:
* Strong maritime logistics background, including experience in executing break bulk charters, containerized shipments, and managing freight forwarder relationships.
* Proven people leadership skills with direct accountability and experience managing direct reports.
* Ability to influence and engage stakeholders across the business and externally, driving change and outcomes.
* Strong execution skills and the ability to get things done in a fast-paced environment.
* Expertise in managing contracts and freight operations, including direct vessel charters and container liner agreements.
* Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills.
* Familiarity with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and a collaborative team-oriented approach.
If you’re a self-starter with a hands-on mindset, eager to lead, execute, and make an impact, we’d love to hear from you.
