Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Paediatric Nurse to join our team. The successful candidate will provide specialised care to infants, children, and adolescents, managing a range of paediatric health conditions and supporting families through various stages of care. The Paediatric Nurse will work closely with paediatricians, healthcare professionals, and families to ensure the highest standard of care for young patients. Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive nursing care to paediatric patients, including assessments, treatments, and follow-up care. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed, and monitor for any adverse reactions. Perform and interpret diagnostic tests, such as blood draws, urinalysis, and imaging studies. Develop and implement individualised care plans based on patient assessments and treatment goals. Educate and support families regarding children's health conditions, treatment options, and home care needs. Monitor and document patients' progress, including growth, development, and response to treatments. Collaborate with paediatricians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure optimal patient outcomes. Provide emotional support and counselling to children and their families during hospitalisation and follow-up care. Assist with routine procedures and emergency interventions as required. Ensure compliance with established paediatric care protocols, guidelines, and regulatory standards. Stay current with advancements in paediatric nursing practices and participate in continuing education and professional development. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BN) or equivalent. Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse. Proven experience in paediatric nursing or a related field. Strong knowledge of paediatric health conditions, treatments, and developmental stages. Excellent clinical assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with children and families in a compassionate and supportive manner. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively in a dynamic environment.
