The Role Our clients are a family-owned farming business with the main part of their operation being 2,200 ha of beautiful, open country near Gulargambone, NSW. 1,000 ha of this is used for dryland cropping of Wheat, Barley, Canola, Chickpeas and Oats, with the remaining native pastures grazed by 1,600 Merino ewes producing Border Leicester cross lambs. Cattle are traded opportunistically, with 200 head at present. This diverse business also includes 750 ha of shared farming and an established contract spraying business covering 3,500 ha using a late-model Goldacre self-propelled sprayer. The young and motivated owners are hands-on in the business, and both have a background in Agronomy, with a wealth of knowledge to share. This role may suit someone with a trade but limited on-farm experience, as they are more than happy to share knowledge and skills and to learn from each other. Day to day, this role will be diverse and interesting as you will be involved across all aspects of the farm, including: Livestock handling and husbandry. General fencing and repairs and maintenance. Operating machinery for cropping operations. Weed control. There is scope for you to progress your career within this business in your area of interest.
