Our team brings extensive experience and knowledge, creating a welcoming and collaborative environment where expertise is shared, and support is always available.With regular team meetings and safety huddles, we prioritise clear communication, access to team consultation, and maintaining a strong team culture.About The Role:As a Social Worker at John Hunter Children's Hospital, you will:Provide psychosocial assessments and therapeutic interventions for patients and their families.Assist families experiencing complex psychosocial issues, including mental health concerns, domestic violence, substance misuse, and child protection matters.Make referrals to community support services for ongoing intervention and family support.Provide social work cover in various areas of the Children's Hospital, including Emergency, General Medical, Surgical, and Adolescent Wards when needed.About You:We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Social Worker who brings:Relevant experience or transferable skills working with families and children.Strong communication skills, with the ability to adapt to diverse audiences.Experience in person-centred and brief intervention models.Ability to work effectively within both social work and multidisciplinary teams.Requirements:Tertiary qualifications in Social Work.Eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).Experience in paediatric or family-centred care is desirable.Current NSW Working with Children Check and National Police Check.What We Can Offer You:At Hunter New England Health, enjoy a career where you're challenged by meaningful work and supported by a dynamic team.
