About the Role Our School is searching for a Science Laboratory Technician to support the work of teachers in the delivery of the teaching and learning program in Science. This opportunity is a fixed-term contract based at our Plenty Campus, Doreen. You will be required to work Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 8.30am – 4.30pm, on a Term time only basis commencing April 2025 through to 12 December 2025. If you have a learning attitude, flexible demeanour, a history of working collaboratively with your colleagues and willingness to respond positively to any day-to-day needs that arise, then we would love to hear from you Your Everyday Working closely with the Administrator Manager and the Curriculum Leader - Science, the successful candidate will : Ensure that all laboratory activities are well managed and supported Flora, fauna and all living specimens are collected, maintained and cared for respectfully and in accordance with regulations related to handling and the prevention of cruelty Apparatus and chemicals for practical work and demonstrations are prepared Stock is monitored and materials ordered ensuring the timely preparation and submission of requisition orders The laboratories and preparation areas are kept clean and hygienic as well as safe and secure Ensure that Hazardous Substance Risk Assessment forms and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for chemicals are maintained as per compliance requirements. About You Sound knowledge of child safety protocols and compliance requirements Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve team goals and meet deadlines Diploma of Applied Science, Certificate IV Laboratory Technician or equivalent qualifications Chemical Safety qualification is desirable Experience with PASCO Data logging would be highly regarded Strong capacity to consult, collaborate and interact with staff, students and parents/ guardians Ability to test new pracs for staff and students.
