Early Childhood Performance and Planning AdvisorJob posted: 14/11/2024An exciting opportunity exists to work as part of a multidisciplinary, area-based team that is building the capabilities of early childhood service providers and focused on delivering improved outcomes for children in the Central Highlands Area.The Early Childhood Performance and Planning Advisor will have a focus on ensuring that all children and families have access to, and participate in, high quality early childhood education and care. The role builds partnerships with key stakeholders, provides advice and support to local government, community service organisations and early childhood providers. A key responsibility of the role is managing service agreements between the Department of Education and funded organisations. The role will work with other team members to implement key government Early Childhood policy, initiatives, reforms and strategies at a local level.The role will require high-level interpersonal, analytical, negotiation and communication skills, along with experience in project and programme management. In some instances the role may supervise other team members and be required to clearly define role expectations, monitor performance, provide timely and constructive feedback and facilitate employee development to further enhance their contribution to the area team.Key responsibilities of the role may include:Utilisation of systemsEstablishing and managing relationships with and between stakeholders and clientsLeading programs as part of the Early Childhood Improvement Branch to deliver shared objectivesWorking collaboratively with other area and regional staff to achieve alignment and consistency of program goalsMonitoring compliance and risk in relation to provider service agreementsIdentifying emerging service gaps or needs in the delivery of Early Childhood policyFacilitating the resolution of complex stakeholder issuesContributing to the development and implementation of strategies to facilitate greater integration between Early Childhood service providers to achieve better outcomes for children and their familiesActing as a subject matter expert on early childhood policyManaging the implementation of service initiatives to achieve stated objectives and outcomes.AttributesThe ideal candidate will have strong project management skills and use their critical thinking and problem-solving skills to provide innovative solutions to complex issues. They will be able to build and develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and work collaboratively within a team.
