About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Employment lawyer with WHS experience who has a keen interest in writing and content creation, and an excellent understanding of the processes in a practitioner’s workflow.
The primary purpose of this role is to develop and maintain high quality up-to-date practical legal content on workplace and WHS law for LexisNexis’ popular Practical Guidance product, which is Australia’s most established and trusted digital ‘how-to guide’ of legal practice.
It will also involve GTM (marketing and promotional) activities and provide support to relationship managers (sales) to help build brand awareness and influence market share across clients and stakeholders.
This role is a permanent 4 to 5 days a week role. Some regular in-office time in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane is preferable, but there is also the opportunity to work flexibly and from home.
Responsibilities
1. Develop new workplace and WHS law content such as guidance notes, precedents and checklists as well as user-friendly, high value tools such as comparative tables, and training materials
2. Update and enhance existing content in the Employment and WHS modules
3. Keep subscribers up to date on developments in workplace law in Australia through current awareness initiatives
4. Support our sales, marketing and engagement teams by promoting content in the module through articles, webinars, masterclasses and/or podcasts (as appropriate)
5. Work with other legal writers across the Practical Guidance team
6. Autonomy to drive content plans and priorities for the digital delivery of workplace and WHS law content to private practice and in-house lawyers, barristers, government and regulatory bodies, and academics
Requirements:
7. 3+ years PQE with a keen interest in writing, content creation and legal research
8. Experience in an Australian mid to top tier law firm or in-house counsel role or equivalent
9. A strong practice background in Employment and WHS law
10. Excellent communication and plain-English writing skills with high level of accuracy and attention to detail
11. Aptitude for building and fostering relationships with a range of diverse clients and local and international stakeholders
12. Excellent analytical, problem solving and organisational skills.
