About Department
Central Gippsland Health Service (CGHS) is the major provider of health and residential aged care services in the Wellington Shire. CGHS serve an immediate population of 42,000 in Central Gippsland, while acute specialist services reach a wider community in East Gippsland. Central Gippsland Health Service has more than 110 acute beds; approximately 180 high and low care residential aged care beds, as well as 15 independent living units. Acute services, situated at Sale, Maffra and Heyfield, include a 24-hour, seven day a week emergency department, operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis services. CGHS provides multi-disciplinary health services to Sale and Central Gippsland. The core services include delivery of Acute Hospital Care, Rehabilitation, Aged Care Services, Outpatient Services, Home Based Services and Community Health.
The Medical Services Division comprises specialty units such as ICU / CCU, Cardiology, Oncology, Renal Dialysis, Emergency Department, Aged Care & Rehabilitation, Respiratory and sleep medicine. The 6 bed ICU / CCU provides ventilation and hemofiltration. The junior workforce comprises two Interns and four Physician trainees on rotation from sub regional and Melbourne hospitals.
About the Role
The Consultant Nuclear Medicine Physician will help us provide the highest quality of care possible. The ideal candidate will be board certified in nuclear medicine and have experience working with a variety of patients. The Consultant will be responsible for performing nuclear medicine procedures, interpreting images, and providing consultation to referring physicians. The nuclear medicine physician will also be responsible for maintaining a high level of patient satisfaction by providing compassionate care.
In addition, physician will also be responsible for inpatient management of patients under the General Medicine team as well as participate in on call physician roster. The job will be split general medicine and nuclear medicine responsibilities.
Classifications for this position will range from classification award for Specialist Year (1-9)

About You
5. Primary medical qualification registrars with the Medical Board of Australia
(AHPRA)
6. Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physician (FRACP), or other
Postgraduate clinical training, qualifications and experience assessed by the
RACP as being fully or partially comparable to an Australian physician and
Suitable for an Area of Need physician appointment
7. Substantial and proven experience as a physician in general medicine within an
acute care hospital-based setting and community consulting practice.

9. Lead the provision of clinical nuclear medicine services to patients, including general nuclear medicine, radionuclide therapy and bone densitometry and other nuclear medicine procedures within the capability of CGHS.
