Job Title: Lecturer in Social Work (Fieldwork Educator)
The Faculty of Health at Deakin University is seeking an Education-focused Academic to join the School of Health & Social Development.
About the Role:
* Act as a Fieldwork Educator for Social Work students, guiding the establishment of learning goals and assessing learning outcomes.
* Provide support and oversight for students and on-site supervisors, addressing placement issues and managing any critical incidents that arise.
* Identify and develop new placement opportunities to meet the learning needs of Deakin Social Work students.
* Integrate industry, clinical, and research practices into the curriculum to enhance teaching and adopt innovative curriculum design at the unit level.
Key Selection Criteria:
* PhD or Masters in a relevant discipline and/or other relevant qualifications and experience.
* Eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
* At least 5 years post qualifying experience in social work including being a field educator.
* Excellent record of scholarly learning and teaching in university-based programs or as a field educator.
* Demonstrated passion for teaching and learning.
* Ability to deliver effective teaching practices to improve student success and engagement.
* Knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and contemporary issues related to First Nations Peoples.
