Description The Role: The Casual School Nurse will carry out general first aid requirements including the initial intake and assessment of those who present to First Aid. The Casual Nurse will also assist with ensuring the first aid facilities and supplies are maintained in a professional and safe manner. This role is primarily based at the Kew campus, however there may be occasions the Casual School Nurse is required at other campuses. The Person: To be successful in this position, you will have: Current, unrestricted AHPRA registration First Aid, CPR & Anaphylaxis certificate (or willing to obtain) Registered Anaphylaxis verifier (22579VIC) Comfortable in administering intranasal midazolam (desirable) Diabetes in Schools – Level 1 & 2 (desirable) Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team Experience in emergency services is highly desirable Understanding of OHS in a school setting A valid Employee Working with Children Check is a requirement of employment for this position.
