About the Role: An exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic and motivated Speech Pathologist to join our team at Aegis Aged Care. You will be responsible for providing speech pathology services to an older adult caseload and participate in quality improvement activities and education. This will involve, but is not limited to assessing, diagnosing and managing residents who present with a wide range of swallowing disorders. You will see residents on a referral basis with 50-60 referrals per month. You will be responsible for: Predominantly working with residents with dysphagia, undertaking assessment, diagnosis and management of residents with swallowing disorders. Ensuring accurate documentation is kept in line with relevant guidelines. Attending multi-disciplinary meetings and and group meetings as required, as well as participating in Family conferences. Conducting risk & clinical assessments ensuring a smooth daily workload & prioritizing Residents with higher clinical needs. Supporting residents choice whilst mitigating any risks. Ensure compliance with Aegis Policy & procedures, confidentiality of Residents information whilst striving for continuous improvement to uphold the highest standard of care. Maintain a safe work environment in compliance with work, health and safety legislation. Reporting and investigating incidents, OHS meetings and training as required. Well-developed verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Able to work independently and within a team environment. Hold a genuine interest in working with older people. Understand the needs of and issues facing older people. Good time management skills Essential requirements: Speech Pathology qualification and AHPRA registration. Have full Australian working rights and able to pass a national police clearance.
