Survey Crew Lead - Field Survey Site Selection - Upstream Oil & Gas Location: Chinchilla (Local candidates preferred; candidates based in Brisbane will be considered, with travel covered by client) Roster: 15 days on / 13 days off Duration: 24-month initial contract (view to extend) Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Survey Crew Lead to supervise our field survey team within the Development organization.This role reports to the Survey Operations Team Lead and is critical for ensuring the safe and effective execution of various surveys, including Site Selection, Environmental, and Cultural Heritage assessments.Key Responsibilities: Lead the execution of field surveys for site selection across all infrastructure locations.Supervise the field survey process, ensuring the highest standards of Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) for all team members.Identify and address risks, implementing mitigation measures as necessary for the Survey Operations Team.Collaborate with various stakeholders (e.g., Environment, Social Performance, Land Management, Health and Safety, Indigenous Relations, Engineering, and Construction) to complete field site clearances and submit necessary reports.Compile and review documentation produced by internal stakeholder groups, including survey sketches from the pegging party.Interface with stakeholders throughout the Integrated Approvals process to ensure alignment and compliance.Work collaboratively with peers to develop and enhance processes and procedures for Survey Operations. Key Requirements: Proven experience leading small teams, with a focus on safety leadership (5-10 years preferred).Background in construction within the Oil & Gas, mining, or resources industries, along with surveying experience.Excellent skills in managing and engaging stakeholders effectively.Demonstrated commitment to HSSE practices, managing Geomatics HSSE risks, and influencing safety outcomes.Understanding of geospatial data management and surveying practices, with experience in engineering, environment, or cultural heritage data.Advanced problem-solving skills with a solution-oriented mindset.Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, capable of constructive challenges and negotiations.A proactive, flexible attitude with the ability to thrive in a multicultural environment.
