Position Title: NDIS Support Worker - Community-Based Support
Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities? We are seeking dedicated NDIS Support Workers to assist participants in Sydney's western suburbs, preferably working hours will be in suburbs between Penrith and Campbelltown. This role focuses on community-based support, fostering independence, and encouraging social inclusion for people with complex needs.
About the Role:
As an NDIS Support Worker, you'll work closely with individuals, providing hands-on care and behavioral support to promote greater independence and community participation. You'll assist in daily living activities, encourage social engagement, and work collaboratively with participants to achieve their personal goals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Implement individualized support plans and assist with daily living activities.
* Foster community engagement by coordinating and facilitating social outings.
* Support participants with behavioral management strategies tailored to their needs.
* Assist with personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
* Maintain accurate documentation including incident reports and progress notes.
* Build rapport and provide emotional support to encourage independence and social interaction.
* Work effectively with participants who exhibit complex behaviors of concern.
* Ensure participant safety and well-being, while maintaining confidentiality.
About You:
You are a compassionate, patient, and dedicated individual committed to empowering people with disabilities. With your ability to handle challenging behaviors and build strong relationships, you will thrive in a dynamic and rewarding environment.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
* Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, or a related field (Certificate IV preferred).
* Experience supporting individuals with complex or challenging behaviors.
* Knowledge of behavioral management strategies.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Current First Aid and CPR certification.
* Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working With Children's Check (or willingness to obtain).
* A valid Australian Driver's License.
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
