Fitters, Turners & Machinists (Trades & Services) Full time White Industries, a successful Australian Foundry, is seeking to find an experienced Trade Qualified Maintenance Fitter to join the team at their Ipswich site. Trusted by large corporates in mining, logistics, and agriculture, the family-owned business was established over 60 years ago. About the role The maintenance team leader position is a hands-on role managing the maintenance team including apprentices, inventory, completing breakdown repairs, and preventative maintenance activities to all equipment on site. Job tasks and responsibilities Due to strong business performance and increase in demand at our Ipswich facility, we have an opportunity for a maintenance fitter on a permanent full-time basis. We have a 38-hour, 5-day week operation with opportunities for overtime. Based in Karrabin Ipswich and reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the duties and responsibilities associated with this role will include, but are not limited to: Complete breakdown repairs and preventative maintenance activities to all equipment on site. Perform reactive maintenance as required to ensure minimal disruption to plant production. Develop and maintain preventative maintenance schedules in Synchro. Update as required. Perform preventative maintenance as per the PM schedules. Supervise maintenance team including apprentices. Inventory management. Always maintain the cleanliness of the workshop. Wear protective clothing and use protective equipment. Adhere to OH&S guidelines (as outlined in employee handbook). Adhere to all anti-discrimination and harassment policies as outlined in employee handbook. Ensure all requirements in the Production Process Sheets are followed and any changes are referred to the Quality Control Department in conjunction with the Section Supervisor. Read plans and fabricate internal projects for use within the White Industries Group. Perform maintenance welding tasks to foundry equipment as directed. Provide 5S improvement suggestions to Supervisor. Report any safety concerns directly to Supervisor/Manager. About you To be considered for this opportunity you will possess all the following attributes: Mechanical Engineer / Industrial Engineer / Mechanical Fitter / Electrical Fitter / Boilermaker / Fitter and Turner. Physically fit for manual tasks. Clear oral and written communication. Ability to work unsupervised to achieve targets and follow procedures. Post Trade Qualification in related discipline.
