About the role
Temporary part time opportunity to provide high quality psychological assessment and treatment to medical and surgical inpatients and outpatients and contribute to a patient's ongoing medical management and care. The main focus of this position is inpatient care.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
1. Deliver high level, evidence-based Psychology clinical services to medical and surgical inpatients and outpatients, including consultation, assessment, brief interventions and evaluation of complex care needs.
2. Apply high level professional judgment and decision making to resolve a complex caseload, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable clinical evidence with minimal direct clinical supervision.
3. Contribute to the development of clinical practice, procedures and administrative protocols for the Psychology Department and multidisciplinary medical teams that support the continuum of care.
