SCOPE OF DUTIES:
Perform the comprehensive functions of an Architect employed in private practice, satisfying the client brief and expectations.
Assemble and interpret the client brief and obtain specific site information.
Re-affirm client brief with Director prior to commencement of project.
Establish documentation programme to meet designated client and Director deadlines and the construction programme.
Schedule the required documentation, allocate drawing numbers and ascertain staffing requirements.
Prepare Town Planning and Building code requirement summaries at the commencement of documentation of a project.
Adopt and enforce office quality system using established procedures and checklists at the different stages of the project.
Maintain current project files according to office standards.
Assess suitability of product/material selection and construction detailing.
Instruct project team, liaise and coordinate consultants and monitor documentation process to ensure the timely supply of information and that the "deadline" for completion of all documentation is met.
Act to prevent deficiencies and errors in work and service by planning and monitoring work.
Report to Directors on staff performance and assist Directors in regard to staff assessment.
Prepare applications for all Authorities approvals.
Attend consultants and client meetings and ensure project team debriefing.
Take and issue minutes.
Prepare tender and contract documentation and liaise with tenderers.
Write specification (where applicable).
Comprehensive contract administration duties, including attending site meetings, inspecting the works, providing additional construction information, amending the documentation when appropriate, certifying the works and preparing defects inspections.
Identify and resolve project based problems, verify the implementation of solutions.
Check production performance in regard to time, discrepancies, errors and omissions.
Conduct post occupancy inspections to assess the performance of design and materials.
Ascertain how construction problems or defects could be avoided.
Maintain professional development requirements for continuing education and undertake training initiatives to broaden knowledge.
Report any potential or existing problems in performing these duties to the Directors.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Architecture qualifications to master's level from Australia or overseas.
Minimum 10 years project experience within an architectural practice with strong Revit, Photoshop, Indesign, and Lumion skills are preferred.
Highly competent level of knowledge, skills, and project experience working on multi-residential, retail/commercial, and mixed-use developments.
Ability to balance multiple projects while liaising with internal team, external consultants, and clients.
Experience across all project stages including client briefing, concept design, design development, documentation, consultant coordination and site coordination.
Autocad is recommendable and good hand sketch communication skill is highly welcome.
Registration preferred but not essential.
