In this vital role, you will help students with disabilities transition from secondary school (including specialist schools and alternate education settings) into TAFE, ensuring they have the support they need during their first 90 days of enrolment and beyond.As a TAFE Disability Transition Support Officer, you’ll work within a “Team Around the Learner” framework, offering one-on-one guidance and support to students as they adjust to the TAFE environment. You’ll partner with secondary schools to build awareness of the TAFE experience and share best practices across the Victorian TAFE network, all while playing a key role in our community of practice.This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with a team of passionate professionals, including Disability Liaison Officers and Well-being Officers both within and external to the organisation, and contribute to a supportive and inclusive educational experience for students with diverse needs.Selected Duties:Providing one-on-one support to students with disabilities as they transition to Wodonga TAFE.Assisting with the development and implementation of Reasonable Adjustments to support students with disabilities.Building strong relationships with stakeholders and contributing to reporting and milestone tracking.Collaborating with secondary schools to share knowledge and best practices on transition strategies.ABOUT YOUSkills & ExperienceYour values align to ours - Integrity + Respect, Community + Collaboration and Creativity + Innovation.A relevant Degree or Diploma in Education, Disability, Health, or Community Services, or a combination of experience and qualifications in disability/community services.A strong understanding of the Disability Standards for Education and experience with Reasonable Adjustments in a vocational education context.Knowledge of policies and legislation relating to disabilities and how they impact students in the education system.Demonstrated experience in engaging with children, including those from diverse backgrounds and those with disabilities.ABOUT USWodonga TAFE provides quality education and training across Australia.
