To provide a responsive community based assessment and intervention service for young people with complex mental health needs in contact with the criminal justice system and their families. Providing mental health assessment, intervention and care coordination by incorporating discipline specific recommendations to the identification and formulation for young people and their families who are experiencing crisis or mental health complexity.
The Safeguard Service team which is community based and will provide rapid, mobile, intensive and flexible short term delivery of skilled evidence based interventions to improve outcomes for young people in contact with the criminal justice system.
· Occupational Therapist : Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in occupational therapy and hold general registration with Occupational Therapy Board of Australia under Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra). To be appointed as a Level 4 Senior Clinician, evidence must be provided of minimum three years' (ideally 5 years’) clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist and demonstrated experience of extensive specialist knowledge or a high level of broad generalist knowledge within the discipline as defined by the award definitions of a Level 4 Health Professional.
· Social Worker: Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in social work and hold professional membership or be eligible for full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). To be appointed as a Level 4 Senior Clinician, evidence must be provided of minimum three years' (ideally 5 years’) clinical experience as a Social Worker and demonstrated experience of extensive specialist knowledge or a high level of broad generalist knowledge within the discipline as defined by the award definitions of a Level 4 Health Professional.
· Senior Psychologist : Minimum of a four-year accredited psychology degree and hold general registration with Psychology Board of Australia under Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra). Approved or eligible for approval as a Psychology Board of Australia Supervisor. To be appointed as a Senior Psychologist, evidence must be provided of minimum nine years’ experience clinical experience as a Psychologist (minimum seven years’ clinical experience with general registration).
· Clinical Psychologist: Six-year accredited master's degree or higher in clinical or forensic psychology (or another area of practice endorsement) and hold general registration and area of practice endorsement in clinical or forensic psychology (or another area of practice endorsement) with Psychology Board of Australia under Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra). Approved or eligible for approval as a Psychology Board of Australia Supervisor.
· Valid unrestricted drivers' licence for use in NSW/Australia.
· Valid NSW Employee Working With Children Check
· Responsibilities under WHS - Non-Supervisor; You must take all reasonable care for yourself and others and comply with any reasonable instruction, policies and procedures relating to workhealth, safety and wellbeing.
· May require extended hours during the week and on weekend. May be required to travel to metro and regional NSW sites to provide in-reach.
Please Note: Location is negotiable between Dubbo, Wagga-Wagga and Lismore, there's flexibility available to work within these regions.
