Role Overview
You will report directly to the Supply Chain Manager and collaborate with both local and international teams to stay one step ahead to plan and action purchasing activities for a designated group of products and services from both local and international sources.
This role is pivotal to ensure the operational needs are met efficiently and that inventory levels are optimised. Ideally you are a proactive, results-driven individual who excels in stakeholder management and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Your day will include but is not limited to:
* Manage supplier performance and improving reliability of supply
* Negotiate prices and supply agreements while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers
* Handle transactions across the supply chain for designated product ranges
* Support inventory control and identifying continuous improvement opportunities
* Report on inventory inefficiencies and working to eliminate them
* Ensure all purchasing transactions align with the company's strategic goals
Key Requirements
* Previous experience in a Buyer position or similar, ideally with 5+ years' experience in purchasing and supply chain management.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with key internal and external stakeholders.
* Strong understanding of commercial terms and purchasing processes, with ability to negotiate and influence.
* Proficient in Microsoft suite including experience with ERP/MRP systems.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Sound decision making and time management skills.
