The Opportunity We’re looking for a Senior Developer who will be responsible for the development and ongoing improvement of the Department’s enterprise platforms mainly focused on the Appian Platform. This role requires advanced technical knowledge of software development within a specified technical domain, and strong technical knowledge of software development in a broader context. The primary focus is tackling complex software development and maintenance tasks, while also providing guidance and assistance to less experienced colleagues. This includes motivating the team, ensuring adherence to established solution design patterns, and maintaining high standards of code quality. The role collaborates closely with the Development Lead, Team Leader, and business stakeholders, to make technical and solution design decisions that align with both business objectives and architectural requirements. About You The successful candidate will: Design, develop and maintain impactful software solutions that deliver business value and the best possible customer experience. Provide technical leadership and mentor team members within a specified technical domain. Make informed technical decisions aligned with business needs, technical assessments, and architectural principles. Own and drive initiatives to completion, meeting quality expectations and deadlines. Deliver exceptional service and high-quality technical solutions to ensure customer satisfaction. Education/Qualifications Qualifications in an IT related discipline is desirable. Special Conditions The successful candidates will be required to provide a National Police Check (NPC) prior to employment with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.
