The People branch provides key enabling functions to the agency. The Payroll, Systems and Reporting section is responsible for the delivery of payroll services, HR Systems (Aurion) and Workforce Analytics and Reporting. The Payroll Team is a dynamic and fast-paced team delivering key payroll functions that includes day-to-day payroll processing, salary and entitlement calculations, salary sacrifice and reporting obligations. The key duties of the position include As the Payroll Manager, you will lead a small team to provide customer focused payroll services to the AEC within legislative frameworks and work procedures. You will be a positive and proactive team leader by providing advice to your team on complex work tasks. You will guide and develop your team through regular performance conversations and encourage a high-performing team environment. To excel you will: Manage a team responsible for the administration of payroll processes. Monitor and manage team workload and performance. Ensure a customer focused service provides sound, timely and accurate advice to AEC employees on pay, processes and systems. Undertake complex payroll and workers compensation processes and manage the resolution of issues and escalated enquires/complaints. Identify and implement improvements to policies, processes and systems. Contribute to identifying system enhancements of the Aurion system and regularly review nominated reports. Establish and maintain effective working relationships across AEC and external stakeholders.
