CSI is listed on the Toronto stock exchange (CSU) and acquires, manages and builds industry specific software companies across the globe, providing them with strategic guidance and financial security.Vela APX is a division of Vela Software and provides finance, admin, payroll and HR support to our growing number of software companies across Australia, New Zealand, India, the UK and Singapore.About the roleThis position takes an important role in directing the finance function and assisting the Group Financial Controller (GFC) in balancing financial, commercial and compliance matters across the Centaurus Group. This will involve work to deliver high quality financial analysis, a focus on underlying data integrity and identifying operational efficiencies within the businesses, as well as leading the finance function to achieve day-to-day operating processes and deadlines.Main responsibilities include:Ensure the successful completion of the monthly and quarterly financial deliverables, month end close activities and associated reporting for a selected Portfolio.Assist in the preparation and updating of the Portfolio monthly/quarterly QSR reporting.Contribute to effective formulation, documentation and sharing of processes, policies, and procedures.Effective Treasury Management and support.Take an active role in the ongoing financial integration of newly acquired companies within the Centaurus Group.Daily supervision and mentoring of junior accountants to assist with their ongoing training and development.Effective stakeholder relationship management with an emphasis on fostering excellent business partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders.Commitment to the company’s core values.What we’re looking for:Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Business, or other relevant professional qualification.CA/CPA membership or equivalent.At least 3 years of experience in a related role, preferably within a commercial software environment.Solid understanding of core accounting principles and applicable accounting standards.You thrive in tackling challenges head-on and finding creative solutions.Highly effective communication skills with high attention to detail.Tech savviness and experience with computerised accounting packages.Energetic and self-motivated being able to work autonomously and in a team-based environment.High level of adaptability/flexibility coupled with a keenness to learn.Commitment to excellence, innovation and continuous improvement.At Vela, we believe in taking care of our team.
